The Milan Youth Center (MYC) opened its doors in May, 2017 as a result of a grant from the Southwest Minnesota Intiative Foundation’s “Grow Your Own” intitative. Youth Center members include students in grades 7-12. The members meet twice a week, with one evening being dedicated to providing an engaging environment, as well as time to just chill out together….as most teens love to do.

Members are required to agree to a club code of conduct. Wednesdays are dedicated to homework help.

Milan Kids Club (MKC) began in October, 2022. The club meets twice a week and is for kids in grades K-6. The focus of the club is learning through play. Funding for the club has been provided by the Lac Qui Parle Valley School District and the Southwast Minnesota Initiative Foundation.

A snack is provided. All MKC activities are supervised by adult leaders. Parental permission form is required.

1st and 3rd Monday of Each Month

ECFE (Early Childhood Family Education) meets the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month in the Old Milan School building. In the summer of 2022, GMI was awarded a grant from the Southwest Initiative Foundation to provide regular ECFE sessions in Milan. These sessions give families the opportunity to share, learn and play together in a welcoming space.  Activities include learning through play, educational opportunities for both children and adults, followed by a shared meal.

Open gym is supported by Lac Qui Parle Valley School District Community Education. Children are free to play in the Milan gym. Sports equipement is provided.

4-H Club

4th Tuesday of Each Month

Lac Qui Parle County 4-H supports the club in Milan. Regular activities include arts, science, nutrition, and outdoor exploration. New members are required to register.

All youth activities are supervised by adult staff members or volunteers.
